This morning on my way to work I cast off my second Norwegian Baby Hat, I dare say that this has by far become my chosen hat pattern for the small set. I think it may have something to do with the shape and how it reminds me of the head piece Merlin wears in Excalibur (scroll down for the photo). I just might knit one out of a silver lame yarn and dress Baby Boy us as Merlin for his first Halloween…does that make me a bad Mummy?
This was knit with the skein of Apple Laine Apple Pie yarn in Blue Jean that Jen gave me as a b-day gift using Addi Turbo 2.5mm circs a la magic loop for the hem/cuff/whatever you call it and Brittanny 3mm DPNs for the rest. There was plenty of yarn left over so during my morning break I cast on the first half of a pair of baby booties using my default baby bootie pattern. This yarn is quite yummy…I may have to get myself some more.
Here is one of the FO’s from yesterday’s blitz:
Rocketry, kit purchased at Lettuce Knit, knit on Denise US8 needles. Once it’s done with the blocking (which will go way faster if the effin’ cats would stop trying to take a nap on it!) I will attach some nice buttons I procured at Courage My Love in Kensingston Market some time ago.
I kinda jumped the gun on declaring the Jane Origami Sweater a FO…I still need to attach the two front pieces but am concerned that I’m doing something wrong so I’m going to ask Laura about it on Wednesday night to hopefully save me having to rip and reseam it again.
In other knitting news:
The placket neck sweater has been frogged and is being reknit as a BSJ (which was it’s original project) and I have started a new placket neck sweater for Abi with the cotton fleece I salvaged from a misguided theory that Teva Durhams Ballet t-shirt would look good on me.
